Elden Ring Runes – Tips For Earning Runes in Elden Ring

There are enemies and locations throughout the game that yield an abundance of elden ring runes for minimal effort, especially those yielding Great Runes that could provide temporary upgrades. Keep an eye out for them!

Dragon-Burnt Ruins South of Caelid are one of the premier early game rune farming spots in Elden Ring and can be reached quickly once accessing Torrent.

1. Kill Troll Warriors

Elden Ring offers some excellent early-game elden ring runes farming spots, making this area one of the ideal early rune-farming spots. Players with high Courage levels or classes like Berserkers (with bonus damage on their enemies like Berserkers) will find this area especially conducive for rune farming. Troll warriors lining the cliffs north of Stormgate drop a lot of Runes upon death and can easily be taken down with lower level characters. Later in the game, you can harvest more troll warriors by fast-travelling to Warmaster’s Shack Site of Grace and riding southeast on horseback. Here, there will be several groups of these warriors that may prove more difficult to kill than Stormgate.

Make the transition between early-game to late-game grinding far less painful with Ash summon’s assistance! Even if you don’t feel like fighting, the Runes you earn here can still be useful for purchasing equipment and levelling up characters.

2. Go to the Site of Grace

Sites of Grace in Elden Ring serve as special checkpoints that reset and replenish all your HP, FP and sacred flasks when you stop for rest at them. This can be especially beneficial when grinding for runes since even one death could cost a large chunk of them away!

Gravesite Plain region of the map houses most Sites of Grace. Additionally, using Torrent as your horse, fast travel to these spots and make grinding in early and mid game much simpler.

Inner Consecrated Snowfield Site of Grace contains a group of enemies you can backstab repeatedly for thousands of elden ring runes in minutes. Meanwhile, Caelid has an ongoing battle between soldiers and enormous demon dogs which will allow you to gather an ample supply of runes with minimal effort.

3. Go to Mohgwhyn’s Palace

Mohgwhyn’s Palace in Elden Ring serves as one of the best late-game level farms, making it essential for players looking to go beyond level 150 quickly. To reach it, either complete White Mask Varre’s questline or use a teleporter at Palace Approach Ledge-Road Site of Grace.

Varre is the rude character who greets players upon first entering Limgrave and offers their questline early in the game by killing one demigod at Roundtable Hold and speaking to him at Rose Church in Liurnia – giving away five Festering Bloody Fingers that can be used against enemies up to three times each.

Players can reach Mohgwhyn’s Palace by completing Latenna’s questline in the Mountainstops of Rold and using the Great Lift of Rold to access Consecrated Snowfields. Moving west from Inner Consecrated Snowfields Site of Grace will eventually lead them to a teleporter at Palace Approach Ledge-Road site and eventually Mohgwhyn’s Palace will appear before them.

4. Kill Albinaurics

If you have already achieved some level, and equipped a Sacred Relic Sword, one of the best rune farming spots in the game awaits. Head quickly to Palace Approach Ledge-Road site of grace and head downhill; here, there will be hundreds of Albinauric enemies for which your Wave of Gold weapon skill can yield countless elden ring runes- combine that with Golden Scarab Talisman or Gold-Pickled Fowl Feet items and you may easily make over 50,000 runes per minute here!

Farming on Mohgwhyn’s Palace takes more time, but is highly rewarding and something you can do at any point in the game – making it ideal for players having difficulty reaching Mohgwhyn’s Palace early-on.
